April 2- 5

I hope that everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather over our long weekend.

Here is a look at our week ahead:

In Math, we will continue fraction work.  This week will pose a slight challenge for some as we move into mixed numbers and improper fractions.  On Wednesday, we will look at probability relationships (likely, less likely).  On Thursday students will work with making predictions.

For our week in Social Studies and Science, we will share the week.  On Tuesday, we will complete an open-book quiz over our conservation material.  Our other Science for the week will be our Squaw Creek Field Trip on Friday.  In Social Studies, we will begin studying the Civil War.   On Wednesday, students will begin studying slavery and plantation life.  Then on Thursday, we will dive into the Civil War.

This week we will combine English Language Arts with Reading.  Students will use strategies to look at a book titled Who Was Sacagawea?  Students will apply strategies commonly found on the MAP test while reading the story.
