Our short week just became shorter! We still have a lot to cover this week, and we are going to make it work!
Here we go...
In Math, we will continue work with fractions by comparing and ordering them on Tuesday. On Wednesday, we will look at checking for reasonableness, as well as finding parts of a group.
Social Studies will drop a day this week. We will review on Tuesday, and test on Wednesday.
In English Language Arts, students will work on editing using their own writing pieces, and some new strategies. For instance, on Tuesday, we will look at finding passive verbs (verbs meaning to be) and replace them with more active verbs to spice up their word choice. On Wednesday, we will read backwards to try to find spelling mistakes. We will then take the opportunity to review punctuation and capitalization.
In Reading, students will finish reading the Sisters Grimm book and work on any reading strategy to compliment what we have read.
On Thursday, we are here for a half day. On this day, we will apply our MAP testing strategies to a movie, "Megamind". This is to show students that all of the skills we learn can be applied other places in life.
As a reminder, we have a half day on Thursday (make-up day), and no school on Friday or Monday for our Spring Break. Enjoy the long weekend, and have a Blessed Easter!
