April 8- 12

After a beautiful weekend, I look forward to a beautiful week ahead.

In Math, we will take fraction work a step further.  On Monday, we will add and subtract fractions with like denominators.  I think that students have a great grasp of this already, so this day should go pretty smooth.  On Tuesday, we move into adding and subtracting with unlike denominators.  This may be difficult to grasp at first, but practice makes perfect!  On Wednesday, we will work on choosing operations from word problems.  On Thursday, we move on to reading circle graphs.  Friday begins MAP test review.

In Social Studies, we will look into unequal rights for citizens.  Students will then learn about Missouri as a growing state.  Wednesday, we will complete a study guide, and Thursday students will participate in an activity as a review of the concepts we studied.  We will test on Friday.

In English Language Arts, we will continue reading Who Was Sacagawea? and working on MAP-like questions.  We will continue working on this through the end of the book this week.

We do have RTI this week.  We will work with MAP review activities to continue to prepare students.  Look for a letter coming home early this week for some tips to do at home to also prepare for the test.
