April 29- May 3

The week is finally here.  MAP testing begins tomorrow for us in 4th grade.  After a great year of preparation, and a final push here at the end, these students are ready!

We do a few other things this week, other than the test, so here they are.

Our Math MAP doesn't begin until Thursday, so we will continue with Buckle Down prep until then.  On Monday, we will review measurement systems, Tuesday we will review perimeter and area, and Wednesday we will review data analysis.  We will test on Thursday and Friday.

In Science, we will continue studying matter.  On Monday, we will measure matter. On Tuesday we will look at physical and chemical properties.  On Wednesday, students will look at how matter changes.  Thursday, students will study heating and cooling matter, and on Friday we will look at mixtures and solutions.

In English Language Arts, we will review some test taking tips on Monday.  We will test on Tuesday and Wednesday.  During this week and next, we will work on poetry.  We thought this would be a relaxing alternative for our afternoons following the MAP test. We will also be using our poetry cross curricular in Art to create a northern lights shape poem.

Please remember that this is an important week for our students.  Although the weather promises to be nice until Thursday, these tests can be exhausting so a good night's sleep is beneficial.

On a side note, students will be trying out band instruments on Monday and Thursday of this week from 2:00-2:45.  This is for possibilities of joining the band next year.

Have a great week!
